Born in Hartford, CT to parents of Puerto Rican descent, Katya has worked in the arts all over the country. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Theater Arts and a minor in business administration from Salve Regina University and  holds a Master’s in Fine Arts in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. She also completed a one year conservatory program at the Barrow Group school and participated in the Labyrinth Theater Company’s Summer Intensive (2018). Katya studied improv comedy at Magnet Theater Company.

​Katya also studied dance and movement at Alvin Ailey, Arthur Murray Dance, Julie Lang Studio of Dance (CT), and numerous workshops in salsa on1 and on2 in both New York and Connecticut. She also studied Suzuki and viewpoints with Bated Breath Theater Company.
